Japan’s guitar-pop pioneers SCANDAL have revealed details of the European and UK release of eighth studio album, entitled HONEY. The CD will be released via JPU Records from 2nd March 2018 and will include an exclusive additional booklet featuring English lyric translations and transliterations.
HONEY features ten tracks written by and composed by the band. It includes tenth anniversary single Koisuru Universe and Take Me Out, the music videos to which have had over one million plays via SCANDAL’s overseas VEVO page. Visual duties of the album have been handled by Tokyo twins and fashion icons AMIAYA.
The album is available digitally from Amazon and iTunes with opening track Platform Syndrome available to instantly download ahead of HONEY’s 14 February digital release, simaulteanous with Japan.
A limited-edition bundle is also available for Europe that’s strictly limited to 200 units, including a t-shirt (available in sizes XS–XXL for the first time) and guitar plectrum. Its available direct from JPU Records website.
Since forming in 2006 while still in high school, SCANDAL have shaped and influenced Japan’s charts. Every album has entered the national charts at fifth position or higher and their music has been credited as inspiring a generation of young women to learn to play an instrument. SCANDAL have also had their music used as theme songs for some of anime’s biggest franchises, including Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Pokémon.
