22 Nov LOVEBITES Wow Europe With First Headline Tour And Reveal Further Details About New Album
LOVEBITES completed their first European headline tour last night with a packed performance at London’s O2 Academy Islington, ahead of the release of sophomore album CLOCKWORK IMMORTALITY in the UK from JPU Records.
“I was impressed with how many people were calling our name despite us being so far from home!” states bass player and co-founder Miho. “Next time I want to come back and perform in even more countries.”
Vocalist Asami adds, “It was great fun, to say the least! Every country welcomed us warmly and passionately. It made me feel warm with excitement. Arigatou!! We love u so much!! See you again!!”
Guitarist Midori also enjoyed performing overseas. “Even though there were a number of countries and cities we haven’t visited before, we could meet a lot of excited people in each place – it put a big smile on my face while on stage. We spent a lot of time travelling and it had its moments, but it was an enriching experience.
The award-winning band has been described as “Japan’s Iron Maidens” by Classic Rock, “extraordinary talents” by Kerrang! and dubbed leaders of “a new wave of Japanese heavy metal” by Metal Hammer who awarded LOVEBITES “Best New Band” in the Golden Gods Awards 2018. LOVEBITES continue to wow fans and critics across the globe with their powerful sound and exhilarating live performances, and are ready to step it up again with new album CLOCKWORK IMMORTALITY out on CD from 18 January 2019.
Miyako, composer for half of CLOCKWORK IMMORTALITY added, “Every time we played on a different city’s stage, I could feel our unity as a band growing. I’m looking forward to pushing our limits and having this feeling again when we tour Japan next year!”
Drummer and co-founder Haruna agrees. “I was a little worried because our schedule was so difficult, but the excitement we experienced far exceeded my expectations! It was so much fun! I want to use this energy and power I felt in Europe in our upcoming tour in Japan.”
Recording for CLOCKWORK IMMORTALITY began in July 2019 and was briefly put on hold while the band flew to Europe for sets at Wacken Open Air in Germany and the mainstage of Bloodstock Open Air in the UK in August. “RISING”, the first track from the album was released last week and immediately confirmed that LOVEBITES were back with incredible guitar solos, thunderous drums, relentless guitar and basslines and soaring vocals mixed with lyrics offering hope.
The album sees LOVEBITES continue to grow their sound and will feature the first song to be composed by vocalist Asami. Entitled “Epilogue”, the album closer has a melody inspired by the sound of British rock from the 70s, while vocally borrows the power and range from Asami’s experience as a professional soul and R’n’B singer in Japan prior to joining LOVEBITES.
