24 Nov PassCode on J-MELO
PassCode, who combine “auto-tuned pop” with “blasting heavy metal that just rips your head off” (Marty Friedman), recently made their first international TV appearance on NHK World’s J-MELO, the only Japanese music show in English.
The episode is available on NHK World’s video on demand service until 2 December and can be watched by clicking here. PassCode appear on the show from around the 14 minute mark – Thank you for requesting them!
On the episode guitar legend Marty Friedman comments, “the thing that really got me about PassCode’s music is their most unusual way of connecting parts. So you might listen to a certain passage from PassCode and just think it’s a normal, kind of auto-tuned pop music you hear everywhere you go, and then all of a sudden there’s this blasting heavy metal that just rips your head off, and that contrast is done in such a tasteful way, in such an exciting way that I can’t stop listening to it. It’s really fresh”.
PassCode recently released their specially compiled overseas album Ex Libris PassCode, available on CD from JPU Records and also available in digital formats.
